The project was to design and create a pipe organ that was controlled by five infrared sensors. Each pipe is connected to an air compressor, which generates airflow through the pipe, and solenoid valves, which are controlled by IR sensors that regulate the airflow and take instructions from hand movements. The length of the pipes was decided to generate sounds according to a pentatonic scale, the five-note scale used in Korean traditional music.
